My daughter and I recently returned from a week of teaching Book Arts in Ocracoke, North Carolina. It was a wonderful experience and we have a lot of great memories. The students and teachers created beautiful books that I hope they will enjoy many years to come. They made accordion and cd books and decorated them. Their books showed a lot of originality.
It was our first visit to Ocracoke. It is truely a unique place. After the classes we did a bit of sightseeing on the island. A highlight for me was to see the Ocracoke Lighthouse which is still functional. I actually touched it! We also enjoyed the beach and the ferry ride.
If you would like to see some of my North Carolina inspired paintings I hope that you will visit my website http://www.sandracherryjones.com
